New sponsor of Northants Cricket Player Pathway.

Northants Recreational Cricket (NRC) is delighted to announce that O'Connor & Company (Insurances) Ltd who is based in Northampton and a Chartered Insurance Brokers, are a partner of NRC.

The partnership will see O'Connor & Company (Insurances) Ltd’s as the partner of the Northants Cricket Player Pathway. The Player Pathway currently includes District Cricket, County Cricket and our Emerging Players Programme.

When asked why O'Connor & Company wanted to support Northants Cricket they replied, “O’Connor & Co have always had strong sporting links with Directors participating in various local amateur sports clubs and also supporting the Professional teams that we have in Northampton. This therefore seemed a good fit.”

The player pathway:

The Player Pathway currently includes District Cricket, County Cricket and our Emerging Players Programme.

District Cricket encourages talented boys within the Northamptonshire Districts – Kettering and Corby, Northampton, East Northants and South Northants with the potential to develop into County Cricket. The age groups specialising in this programme are U11, U12 and U14 boys.

County Cricket features cricketers (both boys and girls) who have been selected and developed from District Cricket to represent the County. The age groups specialising in this programme are U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 & U17 boys and U13, U15 & U17 girls.

Emerging Players Programme currently boasts 10 talented players, selected from our County Cricket Programme that show the most potential to develop into professional Northants County Cricket Club players. For the 8 boys that are currently in the programme, their aim will be to continue on to the Northants Academy, and the 2 girls to progress into England.
